Fort Laramie
Fort Laramie

Did you know that in 1834 Fort Laramie wasn't a fort it was a fur trading post. Come and explore what life was like back then located 20 miles west of Torrington with most of the actual fort buildings standing proud on the prairie. It is worth the short drive to enjoy the ice cold root beer and to experience how a soldier's life was here in the west. From the signing of the Treaty of 1868 to the oldest running post office Fort Laramie has numerous historical values to not only Wyoming's History but also to the development of the West.
